Kit's Nuzlocke adventure 1 by kitfox-crimson Kit's Nuzlocke adventure 1 by kitfox-crimson

Well well well...what's all this then?

Ever thought Pokemon was an easy game for easy game playing children? Think again!

As I mentioned already in some comment or other, I've decided to do this thing that's all the rage somewhere: Play pokemon using the Nuzlocke rules and document my journey in comic form. I'm starting to forget some of the stuff that happened already so I thought I'd better start doing this comic now.

It's amazing how much more attached to pokemon you get when you know they could be gone at any time. Every move is important, every chance of a critical hit is paralyzingly tense. Self destruct is your worst nightmare. And not being able to choose your pokemon makes them so much more characterful somehow...

so anyway yes, follow along if you should like, as I begin this epic tail of potentially epic fail.

It also would help if you knew much about the Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby game.

Loving Ashes' face in the last panel, and now that I have a tablet to draw with, I can finally start my own Ruby 'Locke on here.
RNG willing, i'll be able to get a good run with plenty of magicarps, zubats, and pinecones to fill my box.

Ah! This is where it all started… I remember reading this comic for the first time :') I've never left a single comment on your pages, I was always worried by the fact that I could sound kinda stupid… But this is like the fifth time that I find myself reading these comics all over again and I really need to tell you that they changed my life a little bit: I remember and re-use your punchlines, I discovered some old cartoons and TV Shows, and they changed the way I approach to the game itself. I think you are a wonderful artist, a fantastic storyteller with an outstanding sense of humor and you also seem like a very nice person ^_^
You really bringed your characters to life (and then to death... and then to life again! :D) and always kept going the rollercoaster of emotions across this epic tale.
I hope not to sound cheesy (or creepy) but I really admire you and you almost became a role-model to me. So thank you for the great work, I'm looking forward to see what's next and I really wish you the best! ^_^
Sorry for the long post, but it was time for me to let you know that (:

Sorry for the late reply on this, I've been absent from here for a while XD

I'm so glad I managed to have such a big effect XD It's always great to know that one's efforts are appreciated, and there shall surely be much more nuzlocke to come in the future! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!

I just finished reading all of them a few days ago. This is still my favorite Nuzlocke. Your sentiments mirror mine exactly.

So it looks like you caught Ashes at level 2 or so. This makes no sense in Gen. 3 games because Pokemon hatched at lv. 5 from the Daycare. :-/ If you went looking into Pokemon logic back in 2003-ish, when Ruby and Sapphire came out, the lv. 2-4 'mons you caught on the first four routes wouldn't even be baby Pokemon; they'd be fetus pokemon... :I  Kinda weird...

Seriously, he looks way older than 10. What's with that?
Comic still looks awesome though

I once commented to you that I was dead sure any nuzlocke of mine would be a dead bore because i never let my pokemon die... (too much Fire Emblem in my blood).

Well of course that's how it is when you don't have nuzlocke rules. Back when I farmed the right pokemon with the right natures, and used items at my leisure.

This past week, I decided I'd go blind into an Emerald run.

Sapphire... betrayed me. The ease of Fire Red, too.

I have so much blood on my hands. So much. I'm not even sure I won.
